2-years of Hashem Food Factory 54 workers killing, including 19 children,
The relatives of the injured workers, the IUF Food and Beverage Workers Council-Bangladesh and Bangladesh Agricultural Farm Workers Federation have paid tribute to the dead workers in the tragic fire at Hashem Foods factory in Rupganj, Narayanganj happened on 8 July, 2021. On this occasion, a commemoration meeting was held at the National Press Club at 3 pm flowing a protest rally from Paltan More to the National Press Club today. Fazlur Rahman, father of dead child worker Hasnain, Md Kabir Hossain, father of dead worker Md Rakib Hossain, and Hafez Fakrul Islam, father of dead worker Md Shamim, spoke at the meeting. The families of the dead workers said that even though it has been 2 years since Hashem Foods factory workers killing, the factory owner has not been punished. They complained that proper compensation was not ensured the families of the injured and killed workers. On behalf of the victim families, they demanded that the owner of Hashem foods Factory, who failed to provide a safe working environment for the workers, should be severely punished for killing and injuring the workers by setting them on fire.
